Palo Verde-Pinal West 500kV Transmission Line Construction Project

Irby was contracted by the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (“SRP”) to construct the Palo Verde to Pinal West 500kV transmission line in March of 2007. Serving six utility districts including the Salt River Project, this line consisted of 52.4 miles of single circuit triple bundle conductor (up to 1,400 MW capacity) on approximately 205 self-supporting lattice steel towers.

Foundation work for the project was performed by fellow Quanta Services subsidiary company Can-Fer Construction, and the helicopter leadline was performed by Air2, LLC. The project was successfully delivered in May of 2008.
