Georgia Transmission Corp. (“GTC”) is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by 39 Electric Membership Corporations (“EMC’s”) in Georgia. Georgia’s EMC’s collectively provide power to more than four million people in the state. In May 2015, GTC contracted Irby to construct 38.75 miles of 500kV transmission line to connect its substations in Thomson and Warthen.

Energized in May 2017, the Irby scope included the erection of 157 steel towers, concrete foundations (with assistance from Reliable Constructors), and several high voltage crossings. The project was delivered 6 months ahead of schedule and without lost time incident.
